This Book Review has a Horrid Title

by Sam L.

Three Cups of Tea is Greg Mortenson's recount of his experience in Pakistan where he built schools to better the community. Mortenson was climbing mountains in Karakoram and eventually went to the small town of Korphe. In Korphe Mortenson found children trying to study using sticks and dirt, and was horrified to see the youth with nothing. He believed that it wasn't right for children who have such a strong desire to learn to not have the equipment to do so.

This book was filled with inspiring messages and although this book was touching, it was rather dry. The writing style was boring and lacked any structure. The novel was redundant and extremely self-praising, which isn't a very respectable trait. Recently it was found out that Mortenson's novel was completely fabricated. To say the least discovering this after reading the novel was appalling.
I would not recommend this novel to anyone. The falsehood of the story should be enough to stray anyone away from this, but if that doesn't do it, the drag of the text will do the job. It lacks any basic foundation of writing skills that novels should possess. If you're still interested, you can find Mortenson's novel at any local bookstore or online.
