The Plebeian Guide to Writing Young Adult Fiction

By: Rishi K.

Inspiring writers everywhere, writer Deborah Halverson creates an easy to follow guide for writing young adult fiction. Halverson's guide, Writing Adult Fiction For Dummies walks the reader through the whole writing process, from reaching your target market to publishing. This essential guide walks the reader through every step to be a successful writer.

This guide starts off giving an overview of the genre and giving examples of books in the genre, this allows the reader to identify if this genre is truly the right fit for them. This book then goes on to explain the pros and cons of various writing styles and gives exercises to help a writer develop their plot. Halverson then goes on to explain the process of proof reading and formatting. This book concludes by explaining how to get your work published and even how to manage book contracts.

This is the first guideline to writing in a specific genre that I have read, and I enjoyed it. Halverson's book walks the reader through the whole writing process from idea to book contracts and I enjoyed learning more about the genre of young adult fiction. If your are thinking about writing a book about young adult fiction then you should read this book, too.
