A hare's Breadth from death

By: Daniel D III

Watership down, a Book by Richard Adams (Author as other stories such as The Plague dogs: a novel, shardik, MAIA and many others.)  spins us a wonderfully dark tale from what is seemingly the most innocent creature to grace the earth, a rabbit. We follow our main characters Fiver and Hazel and a myriad of other rabbits as they leave their home, fearing its security and looking for someplace safe from impending doom. Along their way death comes very graphically from every angle, not giving the group anything to hold onto but the hope that they can see their journey through to the end. Richards give us an interesting ride and a few lessons in suspense as the group slowly begins to dwindle. Will our heroes make it to Watership Down? Or will they die trying?

Fire!!

By Sarah P.

Fahrenheit 451 is set in the 24th century and it introduces a new world in which control of the masses by the media, overpopulation, and censorship has taken over the general population. The fireman is now seen as a flamethrower, a destroyer of books rather than an insurance against fire. Books are considered evil because they make people question and think.

BEWARE... By Sarah P.

By Sarah P
Keane was sent to Rwanda as part of a BBC television crew to shoot a documentary film. It is made that much more credible by the fact that Keane traveled around the country while it was deep in crisis, traveled with participants in the war from both sides, spoke with both the killers and the few massacre victims to survive, and saw first hand the devastation that was wrought. Although the book is fairly short and much less in depth than a more scholarly work on the subject, it is a gripping and engaging account of what Keane saw and heard along the way. The Rwandan genocide was triggered when the plane carrying Rwandan President Habyarimana and Cyprian Ntaryamira, president of Burundi, was shot down and crashed into the grounds of the presidential palace, killing them both. Keane spends some time in the beginning of the book reviewing Rwandan history in order to put the genocide in some sort of context.

Mormonism what is it?

By Josh B
As a school book review a few friends and I decided that we would read into different religious books. As my religion I chose the book of Mormon to study up on and see what it's all about. What I found out is that the Mormon community believes that the savior is the center or the most important point of mormonism. They often believe that they are talking directly to Jesus Christ. They are also open to anyone joining their religion.

A Lifestyle Of A Celebrity Before He Was Famous: A California Childhood

By Arrianna M.

James Franco is an amazing actor and writer as I've said in my past book review of him on his book Palo Alto which is quite similar to this one. A California Childhood is similar to what James likes to write and act in even though it is about his childhood life.

R decides to save Julie and take her back to the airport where he lives. Even though he's a flesh-eating zombie, he's the hottest zombie Julie's ever seen, so she starts warming up to him. It helps that they have similar taste in music.

This book review is missing some key pieces

By: Destiny L.

In the hunger games, the capitol selects one boy and one girl, each
between the ages of 12 and 18 from each of the twelve districts, putting

them against each other in a game of survival where they are forced to

fight one another to the death. This is all viewed publicly with others to

watch as entertainment. The girl in the book, Panem volunteers as a

tribute to fight because her little sister got called and she freaked out. I

like the book because it shows adventure but teaches you a lesson. In my

eyes it reminds me of the government because in the "games" every

movement from the characters that are fighting  is being continuously

watched by the people in the capital that controls the TV, for the viewers

in the public. They also have control over weather, animals, danger, also

life and death threatening altercations. It makes it more entertaining for

the public but for the districts they're all losing children.

Stiff Rots

By Kayla L.

Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach is a slow-paced narrative non-fiction novel in the point of view of a young woman. Roach has written other books such as Spook: Science Tackles of the Afterlife, and Packing for Mars, both were published many years ago but Stiff is her oldest publication to this date. The specific genre of this novel is Science, covering the certain topic of cadavers, also known as dead people, throughout the story. The book talks about different methods of cadaver usage for biological study purposes in her well-detailed but boring chapters. Mary Roach uses scientific language to talk about her knowledge and experience with the deceased, which most likely confuses many readers who choose to read Stiff.

Hole diggers

By Jake M.

Holes, was written by  Louis Sachar. It is a book telling the journey that stanley yelnats the main character goes on. The story takes place mainly at the hot and humid Camp Green Lake, a juvenile detention facility where there is no lake, and no happy campers. In place that a long time ago was "the largest lake in Texas" dried up lake It hasn't rained there for over a hundred years. Camp Green Lake was pocked identical holes dug by boys to improve their character, or at least that's the idea at Camp Green Lake. The story takes place in the present time but contains flashbacks of over one hundred years ago to explain how the whole plot started.
