This book review hath not a clever title

by Tia R.

A tragic but exciting novel written by Brent Runyon. The Burn journals is a suicide attempt story. A boy named Brent normal kid or so everyone thought.

Brent was a depressed kid and was acting out he going to get in a lot of trouble at school for setting a fire in the locker room during gym class. Before he could fess up someone ended up taking the blame for what he did but that is only one of his worries he had enough and decided he wanted to end it all until he lit that one match that ruined his life. He tried to put it out with the shower. He ended up in the hospital for months he made friends with the nurses and he's starting to love himself again.
The book had a lot of twists and turns that kept me intrigued and made me want to keep reading. This book isn't like any other if wasn't written like a normal book but written in a way that you felt like you knew Brent or you could feel the pain he was feeling.
I don't think I ever read any of Brent's other books but if it is as interesting as the burn journals then I am excited to see more of his work. I think everyone should at least read this book and maybe more of his work too.
