This review hath not a clever title

By Arrianna M.

Writer Jeanne Ryan has an interesting way of writing the book Nerve. She writes a lot of young adult fiction. She grew up in Hawaii and has traveled all over the world. She had a crazy childhood growing up and going to parties.

Nerve was written by Jeanne Ryan alike to the other book Charisma. Nerve is a young adult fiction thriller. Vee the main character and her friends play a game called Nerve. You can be either a watcher or a player, Vee was originally not involved until her friends talked her into it. Her best friend was a player. So that meant she would do people's risky dares for money. Vee got tired of people calling her prude so she became a player and ended up being more famous that her friend in it teaming up with a boy named Ian. He was attractive and had recently played the game before. Previously with his best friend who died doing his dare hanging off a building for a certain amount of time. It takes place in New York City mostly on 5th avenue where all the expensive stores are. Vee resides in Staten Island.
I enjoyed this book because it kept the thrill going the entire time, there was never a dull moment. With all the different dares going on and the risky consequences it definitely was an interesting book. The storyline was really good and there was many characters involved and it was relatable to everyone in the story because everyone was doing the same thing but then had noticed Vee was more successful and getting her dares done and becoming rich. Towards the end Vee had struggles with money because she tries to stop doing dares but can't because then she will lose all the dare money. There are many crazy events that don't make sense at first but then they all come together and make sense at the end.
Jeanne Ryan is a great writer and writes great young adult fiction novels. Things like that can really keep a writer interested and want them to keep reading the same author. This book was one of my favorites and I will continuously keep up with this author. The book was an amazing thriller and I would definitely recommend.
