13 reasons why by Jay Asher is a 2007 young adult novel. The main character Hannah was a suicide victim that got bullied in school all because a picture this boy took of her going down a slide.
Hannah is a junior at Liberty high school and she killed herself by taking a bunch of pills. Clay jensen a shy classmate that had a thing for Hannah found a mysterious package at his door with a bunch of tapes Hannah made before she died talking about individual people and what they did to get themselves put on a tape.
Jay Asher writes books that can mostly speak to teens. I haven't read any other books by him mostly because i don't really read all too often unless i'm assigned to but his writing really opens people's eyes a lot on today's issues with teens dying from bullying and not speaking up until after they're gone.
