The Book that Helps

By: Rose M.

911: The Book of Help was written by various authors that embrace the true tragedy that occurred on September 11, 2001.

This book takes many authors views and feeling into account as it tells narratives through essays, short stories, and poems. The book describes where the authors were at the time of this life-changing event and how they were affected and will be affected in the future. Some of the stories in the book include how one man assists in the cleaning up after the destruction, a poem for the one lost, and how another helped repair one of the buildings.
The book had many heart wrenching stories to paint a picture of what truly happened around the time of 911. While the stories had lots of meaning and descriptions of the event, some of the stories seemed out of place. The book was split into different parts to help the reader separate the emotions that could take place during the process of recovering from an event like this. While the separation can be helpful, they seems out of order and some of the stories in the section seemed unnecessary in that section.
911: The Book of Help is definitely worth reading. The stories in the book are compelling and heartbreaking. However, stories like the ones in 911: The Book of Help are needed to bring awareness to people today and prevent situations like this from continuing. While the events of what occurred that day are hard to grasp, this book helps explain to the reader events that took place.
