Runaways, Vol. 1: Pride and Joy

By Keys

There's this group of teenagers who grew up seeing each other occasionally while their rich parents discussed fundraisers and whatever else privately. The kids never think anything of it as the years pass by until one day they decide to spy on their parents having one of their "meetings." As the teens are listening to their parents, the\parents bring out a girl and murder her at the meeting. The kids are shocked and feel like they need to do something about this and report it to the authorities. What the teens don't know is that their parents have the city under their power.
While the kids are curious of their parents, they decide to go into each other's houses to find anymore clues and secrets their parents have and during this investigation, the teens find out they have powers of their own. The parents find out that the teens know about them and try to put them to a stop, but the teens don't escape from them without a fight.

I actually really enjoy this book because it also has visuals that help you with what you are reading. I also enjoys this because it catches my attention with the teen characters like myself, the action, and the betrayal of the teens with their own parents.
