"Wrede" this book

By Julia L.

As a previous reader of Patricia C. Wrede's work, I was pleased when she released her On Writing book. In reality, it is less of a book and more of a collection of essays, but it is still focused on the various aspects of creative writing. The book is split into three sections, the first on what Wrede considers the "basics," the second what I dub to be more intermediate things, and the third focusing more on the details and specifics of creative writing (think flashbacks, how to do proper infodumps, etc.).

                                              By Sumeet S.
What's Your Story? by Marion Duane Bauer is a book that helps writers write fiction books. It gives writers a new way to look at writing fiction novels from how to choose your point of view to write in to how to get a reader hooked to your novel. The genre of this moving book is a mix of nonfiction and guide. This genre means that the book guides the readers on how to do certain things.

My Thoughts On Autumn: The City

By Someone Anonymous

Browsing through the family library, I stumbled on this gem. Written by David Moody, Autumn: The City is a thrilling zombie story focused on the survival of three main characters: Michael, Carl and Emma. From beginning to end, the story remained enticing to say the least. All of the key factors needed to make up a good zombie book were seen in Autumn: The City.

FindingYourself Through, Your Autobiography

By Kaila T.

For Creative Writing we were told to read a book about writing. Now at first my reaction was "I don't want to do this" and "why can't I just read a book I want to read?" As a senior in high school I actually enjoy reading, but was not looking forward to reading a educational book based on writing. I chose the book Your Autobiography by Ray Mungo, and I surprisingly enjoyed the book.

On the Book: “On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft”

by Amanda M.

"On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft" was written by Stephen King, the well-known author of Cujo, It, and The Shining. It gives readers and aspiring writers an account of his life as a writer. He tells of how he came to the craft and what he has learned throughout his years of being a writer. This memoir has useful tips about writing and the mindset needed in order to write well. King has a way of explaining things clearly without boring his audience.

Handbook of Poetic Forms

Handbook of Poetic Forms Review
By Andrea D.

There are many books out there on craft, specifically on writing, and even more specifically on poetry. The Handbook of Poetic Forms is one of these. Written by the collaboration of many various teachers and writers over the years, it provides the reader with numerous forms of poetry, some history behind them, examples of each, and of course directions on how to write each yourself.

Cooking Up Some Writing Tips

by Savannah S.

"Writing Without Teachers" is a novel by Peter Elbow. This is a novel in which helps writers for writing fiction, poetry, essays, and lectures. This novel is not a fun read but it did have some helpful remarks, tips, and tricks for writing. I would recommend this book to anyone who gets stuck while writing. This novel gives pointers to writers who suffer from writing blocks.

A Game Of Thrones and incest and midgets and bastards

By Nick L.

A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin is difficult yet satifiying book about a fight for power in a medieval setting. Martin creates a universe thats taken him a decade to write and hasn't even finished. This universe has spawned a hit HBO show : Game of Thrones.  The show is based off the novels. A Game of Thrones is the book behind the first season of the HBO show. You could go ahead and watch the show, but i mean why not give the book a shot too?
