Cooking Up Some Writing Tips

by Savannah S.

"Writing Without Teachers" is a novel by Peter Elbow. This is a novel in which helps writers for writing fiction, poetry, essays, and lectures. This novel is not a fun read but it did have some helpful remarks, tips, and tricks for writing. I would recommend this book to anyone who gets stuck while writing. This novel gives pointers to writers who suffer from writing blocks.
"Writing Without Teachers" helps individuals through the writing process as if it was like "cooking," as Peter Elbow likes to say within the book. This novel focuses on helping the writer develop confidence and inspiration by using diaries and free writing. "Writing Without Teachers" will benefit anyone who has difficulty writing in any aspect of their life. Peter Elbow's approach within his book differs from traditional methods of writing. He doesn't focus on just the original steps of the writing process. He encouages writing freely and then editing the work much later. I would recommend this book to anyone in writing groups or seriously considering writing as a career. I do not mean just novel and short story writers, either. Journalists, reporters, editors, scriptwriters, and any other form of writing careers would benefit from reading this book. I also recommend this to anyone who wants to start a writing group. This book shows the way to create a writing group, as well as the ways to edit the writings created within the writing group. Overall, I recommend this book to anyone who needs or wants to learn how to write better.
