Insurgent Rises To the Occasion

By Marisol M.

Divergent’s sequel, Insurgent written by bestselling author Veronica Roth, is packed with romance, action, and eventful twists. Tris Prior was left with traumatic events when she was left off at the end of Divergent; the death of both her parents, murdering one of her best friends, and the chaotic war that was being controlled by Erudite. Tris, Tobias, and a couple of others arrive at the Amity compound where they are granted a stay for as long as they want.

Tris overhears some important information that she dreads to learn more about, but soon discovers that Amity is not so safe after all. Erudite arrives at the compound which forces them to leave quickly to a destination they never thought they would end up at; a faction of the factionless. They meet an important figure that sends them to Candor. When they get to Candor, it is where everything goes downhill; intriguing romance scenes, heartbreaking fights between lovers, and deaths.
Insurgent is definitely now one of my favorite books. Divergent, Insurgent, any book by Veronica Roth is always fascinating to read. She has captivated me better than any other author has. By all means, she is my favorite author. This book kept me reading for hours until my eyes were tired, even then I did not stop. It is strange, I usually do not like reading but Roth has mesmerized me so well that I cannot stop reading. All romance scenes that were included in this novel were favorite scenes. Tobias and Tris were mostly the ones with the romance, but there were some others with love connections.
The plot was extremely well written. I do not understand how Roth can think ahead when she writes these. The foreshadowing is excellent which makes my curiosity grow each time I come across it. All of the characters that were introduced in the story were always interesting to meet. The ones that were lost, was where the saddest moments for me were. Every dialogue that was in Insurgent was the main reason I kept reading; dialogues keep me going because they keep me interested in what will happen.
Readers of all types of genres should definitely read the trilogies by Veronica Roth. The story itself is so interesting. To think that we humans can one day end up like this is just crazy. Even people that do not like reading should try it out. As I said before, I do not like reading but this book has changed my opinion. Like people say, you have not read a good book if you do not like reading
You can find Divergent, Insurgent, or Allegiant at your local or school library.
