Buzz Aldrin is considered by many as an American hero.  Being the second man ever to walk on the moon is quite an accomplishment, but a lot of people have forgotten that Aldrin has been extremely influential in America’s journey farther into the Cosmos.  In his book, Mission to Mars, Aldrin gives the reader a look at the current efforts being made by NASA and private space companies to reach farther into the Universe.
Aldrin proclaims in his book that he is against another space race.  Why did the United States go to the moon?  Looking at history it is a conspicuous fact that the main reason America went to the moon is because of the space race.  They went in order to beat the Soviet Union.  There is a lot more that came out of the first moon landings than just a political victory.  In this book, Aldrin explains why our trips to the moon were important, why it is important for us to go back the moon, one day colonizing it, and why it is important to make an effort to colonize Mars.
Aldrin does an excellent job explaining his motives for furthering our reach into the cosmos.  He captivates the reader with his simplicity in explaining the methods for creating non-stop transport to Mars and back.   Looking at Aldrin’s work, it really is not all that complicated.
Aldrin’s writing is very influential, and it is obvious that his primary motive for writing this book was to influence his readers.  Because I would like to be an influential writer myself, I have gained a lot of knowledge on how to do so.
