I Have no Idea What this Means but its Deep Photojournislim

By Stacey L.

This thick book of wonders is Dan Eldon's journals bound together, copied and re-ordered as a life and craft book . This book was created by his loving sister in honor of  his work .  Eldon had a very intimate artistic connection with his journals where they simply weren't handwritten summaries of his everyday events , they were artistic collages that more spoke his words for him. He showed parts of himself such as great pride in African tribal culture and having the opportunity to know such people. He also photographs and shows with his art the evils of discrimination, racism, homicide and war in Africa

He makes you ponder the true meaning behind common parts of society. One example is how on one page it was arranged making me think of what had a deeper gentler or twisted meaning to it. The lack of words made me want to discover a "true" meaning to every side of every page. He used symbolism that was personal to him and pointed out how modern day society propagates us with images for example , also how the media twists and molds our insights and opinions. This book has been known for its political statements. Making the author a renowned photojournalist.  This is monumental and has made me change my perspective and has also helped people around the world see change.
