The Burn Book(or journal)

By Corita C.

The Burn Journals is an autobiography by Brent Runyon. Brent Runyon is often a contributor to public radio programs. Runyon writes an enticing novel about the part of his life that was affected by a suicide attempt. In February of 1991 Brent Runyon set himself on fire. This autobiography records the events leading up to this incident, and the struggle of his recovery.

The Burn Journals is not a book to read if you're looking for a good laugh. It is a heavy book not for the faint of heart. However, I think this book is amazingly well written and Brent Runyon must be brave to write about such a traumatizing experience for the world to see. I suggest this book if you're looking for a heartfelt story to make you feel grateful for what you have and your life.

The Burn Journals can be found in the Nashua South library.
