Paperweight

by Haleigh A.
The book Paperweight is by Meg Haston. She lives in Jacksonville, Florida, where she writes and works as a counselor in an independent school. Meg Haston wrote the How To rock series, and Paperweight. Paperweight is Meg Haston is her first young adult novel.  Paper weight is focused a girl named Stephanie "Stevie" Deslisle, who's struggling in the wake of her mother leaving the family and her brother dying in a car crash. The story is told by Stephanie "Stevie" .

The book Paperweight  about a young girl named Stephanie and how she struggled when her mother left her family and her brother died in a car crash. She has a eating disorder and her dad signed her up for a sixty days or treatment. Stevie doesn't plan on staying that long. There are only twenty-seven days till her brother Josh's death- the death she caused. If Stevie gets her way there will only twenty- seven days until she will end her life. She meets some people and they talk her out of killing herself.
Other authors opinion of the book:
"Biting and brave, Meg Haston's writing is so emotionally elegant that at times i had to read and reread just to savor it. I'm the wiser for having this book, and i can't wait to see what she writes next" - Jodi Lynn Anderson
"This wrenching and emotionally honest debut will break your heart and put it back together again" - Deb Caletti
"Clear eyed, unapologetic, and ultimately redemptive, paperweight pays homage to difficult process of recovery" - Lexa Hillyer
Some popular quotes from the book are:
" I am not bulimic sometimes I just need the thoughts to go away"
" We are a collection of the last causes stashed here so no one has to see just how wounded we are"
"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger
I would not recommend this book to anyone younger than thirteen because there are a lot of swears. There is a lot of violence in the book too. Either then the swears and the violence the book is good. It teaches you things.
