This book review should have had a clever title

By Jack. R.
The novel Hemlock Grove written by Allen McGreevy is a true tale of darkness.

The Author does not hold back during his writing, describing every detail down to the bone. At one point in the story he even describes what one of the main characters' penis looks like. The story has such description that it makes it nearly impossible for the reader to put the book down. I myself read the whole length of the book in one swift go, which took about 5 hours.
Hemlock Grove was actually made into a T.V show as a Netflix Original. Unfortunately, after the first book was made, the author stopped making books to complete the series and instead made 3 seasons of the show. That being said, the show was also outstanding. The characters chosen to play the originals from the novel were anything but mundane. Each showing darkness, love and heartache to draw the watcher or reader in.
Without giving any spoilers I will simply say that this novel is totally science fiction and not just a tale of two high school students with ordinary lives. Blood is shed throughout the novel, and tears are certainly wiped away. This novel makes my life seem boring and so plain. Each character has a certain problem that they cannot face with ordinary people. So the two main characters are forced to team up against their natural order.
I would strongly suggest reading this novel, it has made me fall in love with the darkness.
