Writing a Catchy Essay!

By: Khevna J.

The book that I am reviewing is called Fearless Writing: Essay Guide, written by Danielle Denega, who has written other educational books, such as Reading for the Gifted Student: Grade 6. It is a writing guide, and it specifically gives guidance for success on writing various types of essays. The six topics cover how to write any essay, how to write a descriptive essay, how to write a cause-and-effect essay, how to write a narrative essay, how to write a persuasive essay, how to research, and how to edit an essay.

I liked everything about this book. It effectively described how to write each essay by using tables, charts, creative diagrams, and sample essays, all of which helped me to understand the process, and ultimate goal, of writing the given essay. Additionally, the book is not written in a formal manner that may become hard to understand; instead, it is written in a colloquial manner that allowed me to comprehend what needs to be done. I felt like the book was "talking" to me, which made it easier for me to work with the essays.
My reader should definitely seek out the book that I am reviewing for herself because the book is formatted in such a way that after one reads it, it will be significantly easier for that person to be able to plan, organize, and draft an essay in a short amount of time. Since the book also walks one through the whole writing process, after reading it, any person will be able to carry out the writing process and write a decent essay with a thesis, an introduction, at least five paragraphs, and a conclusion that effectively wraps up the essay.
Readers can likely find this book in any library, including a school library or a city library. The book can also be ordered online.
