This review has a boring title

By Matt A.

In Eldest, the second book in the Inheritance cycle, by Christopher Paolini, Paolini continues his fantasy story started by his book Eragon. Paolini tells a fantasy story, almost like J.R.R Tolkien's books. Throughout reading Paolini has multiple cliffhangers which keep you interested in knowing what is going to happen next.

In Eldest, the book begins when Ajihad, the king of the rebel Varden force, is ambushed and killed. After this happens, Eragon decides to go to  the forest Du Weldenvarden, along with his dragon and close friend Saphira, to become trained as a dragon riding by the elves. When he get there, Eragon meets Oromis and his dragon Glaedr, whom are the last dragon and rider left, besides King Galbatorix and his forcibly bonded dragon. The book isn't as focused on Eragon as the first book, as Eragon is mostly being trained during the events of Eldest, instead, it has far more detail around the entire state of the world and the conflicts that are taking place, and the wars and battles that are happening.
I think Christopher Paolini did a good job on the second book in the Inheritance series, and it delved more into the "big picture" of the world of the first book, rather than focusing on just one character. The book kept me reading, and i will probably end up reading the third book in the Inheritance series.
