Apple of my “i”

By: Rishi A. K.
Walking through the life of a legend, writer Walter Isaacson creates an informative, yet page-turning biography. Isaacson's biography, Steve Jobs allows for the reader to explore the life of the legendary Apple founder while engaging the audience by bringing in first hand perspectives of Jobs's colleagues. This biography was written by Isaacson at the request of Jobs and certainly does him justice.

This biography goes through Jobs's life in chronological order and goes into depth of every major event in his life as well as Apple's major achievements. The first few chapters of this biography do feel a little tedious, taking you on an in depth account of Jobs's childhood, but this prelude into the life of Steve Job's may be enjoyable for someone who is a hard-core Jobs fan and reveres him. If you are just an Apple enthusiast I suggest you do not get turned off by this lengthy introduction and read on. The rest of this biography is extremely interesting and shows that Isaacson consulted everyone directly part of Jobs life. Additionally, this biography shows the impact of Job's in the tech industry.
This is the first biography of Isaacson that I have read, and I truly enjoyed it. The in depth research and flow of this biography made it easy to read the almost 600 pages. Isaacson has also written biographies of Albert Einstein and Benjamin Franklin, which I will be checking out. If you are a Steve Jobs and/or Apple Enthusiast you should read this biography, too.
