A Larry Bird Masterpiece

By Larry L.
Bob Ryan and Larry Bird, both Hall of Famers at what they do, Ryan being a amazing writer from the Boston Globe, and Larry Bird being a legend in the game of basketball. Both decided to team up and write a book about Larry's life growing up in French Lick Indiana, being the fourth child of Joe and Georgia's 6 children, and not having money to get by,and the consequences that come with it. He also talks about how himself in college and his experience with both Indiana, and Indiana State University. He speaks about his rivalry with Magic Johnson both in college and in the NBA and how being drafted by the Boston Celtics changed his life forever.

Larry Bird Drive is written in great fashion. It shows every detail of his life and he is not afraid to really talk about the dark situations that come with being an NBA star. He describes how much he did not like talking to the sports analyst and criticism that he got because of him being white and that talented at basketball.
Some of the cons that come with Larry Bird Drive is at the end of the book he seemed to drag on about the courts he played on and which ones he favored to play on and the type of floor each stadium had. It got to the point where i felt like he didn't need to mention that part of the book and could of just been a filler to make the book longer.

Overall, I would highly recommend this book for sports fan who love the Celtics, or who love the game of basketball. Until the end where i believe it seemed to drag on, the book describes his life perfectly from his fathers death, to winning 3 NBA championships.
