Son Of Sobek Crossover Gold

by Evan K.

A book crossover like this happens once, maybe every lifetime.

This book stars Carter Kane a kid that is descended from the ancient pharaohs and now takes on his role as a teacher of magicians in the 14th Nome. He is one of the stars in a series titled the Kane Chronicles written by Rick Riordan. Next to him however we have possibly a bigger star than that in this book. Introducing  Percy Jackson, a Greek Demigod that is the son of Poseidon and stars in his own book series The Heroes Of Olympus written by Rick Riordan. I'm guessing that you guys can tell who wrote this book as well.

The book starts us off with Carter flying down into Long Island tracking a mysterious monster. It had been apparently terrorizing the normal populace for weeks and gaining attention. Wanting to keep the mortals out of the loop from his secret world Carter lands in one of the swamps in Long Island to destroy the beast. He then promptly gets eaten by a giant crocodile.

Now for normal people the story would just end there with him being digested inside the gators belly. However he is coughed up by the beast and saved by a stranger he doesn't know. This enters our second hero Percy who was apparently on the trail of this monster as well since it ate one of his camps pegasi. After some momentary mis-interpretations of each other and a little fight  they agree to kill each other after they've destroyed the monster.

This story was a blast to read. The plot geniusly weaves together two series that although seem separate and different, together in a nice piece of art and style. Our two protagonists play off each other very well and the reader gets to see sides of them previously unknown in their separate series. The usual elements in Rick's stories are only magnified here as the dialogue, action and imagination seem to be doubled.

Don't get me wrong there are a few problems I have here and there. First off the story is wicked short, only about 40 pages. Next is that it's an Ebook and could only be bought digitally meaning you won't have a hard cover book in your hands. Some of the content in this book is also pretty connected in the book series it's connected to so I would recommend reading them before reading this. However I think that all the creativity jam packed into this book makes up for it. The price tag on this isn't going to break your wallet either, being at $2.00 which I think is an insane bargain.

I can recommend this to people that love The Heroes Of Olympus and The Kane Chronicles. If you like Rick Riordan's work in those books you will love it even more here.

This book can be purchased in Itunes and Amazon for only $2.00 Implore you to get in on this great deal.
