Over the February vacation I read the book Apocalypse Cow. This book is written by Michael Logan and is about a disease that spreads to cows making than evil and wanting to kill for blood like Zombies. The cows loose all self control and go on a murderous rampage. The author Michael Logan has written various books like Hells Detective A Mystery and World War Moo and a few others. The book Apocalypse Cow is a genre mostly of war, drama, adventure and war.  

The Book Apocalypse Cow starts off with the disease spreading at a farm. One person dies and many others don't know whats going on. The chapters go by character P.O.Vs. it goes paragraph one as character one two as character or P.O.V. 2 and the third. So it's a little hard to keep track of. One of the characters works for a paper press like news. She gets a call about the start of the apocalypse. She hears it and records it to make sure it's not a prank and never makes news on it because she is afraid that the city will go crazy. She then gets captured by being set up in a trap to get taken by the secret government force that are the only few people that know about the diseases. Another character and his relatives are living on in a barn and the cows their start to go mad. They think it is mad cow disease but then find out they don't feel about pain. So when they tried to kill it to get meat it didn't die and killed some people and one person barely escaped and was taken by the government just like the other lady from the news.

The final group of people is a boy and his family he is a vegan and doesn't eat meat and he thinks cows are gross. Then his neighborhood is overrun by cows and two old people die while trying to escape. He thinks it's ironic because he hates cows and doesn't eat any beef. A military squad comes to take care of the cows and put their neighborhood into quarantine. Everyone in the neighborhood was told to leave to stay in tents and was only allowed one bag of personal belongings. The kid said it was better to stay in the house then go into the woods with tents but his brother didn't agree and made a run for it. So it's a very intense book and always keeps you at the edge of your seat.

The book Apocalypse Cow was a pretty good book in my opinion but there were things I liked and didn't like about it. First i want to talk about what i didn't like about the book. In the beginning of the book it is very hard to get attached because it's very slow in the beginning. The first four to six paragraphs are only explaining some of the characters, what they do and how they react when they find out about the cow apocalypse. So it takes a while to get to the good action of the book. The characters are also very hard to keep track of because of the around six different characters you need to pay attention to. The characters switching so quickly is sometimes confusing.

Although there was some things bad about Apocalypse Cow there was also some good points. The first one is the main point of the book about cows being zombies that is funny and cool at the same time considering i'm a fan of the Walking Dead. I also enjoyed the book after it got out of the introduction. After the slow and boring parts of the story their is some action and it is very entertaining to read. There was also many intense situations whether it's between people vs. people or people vs. cows. There are deaths and decisions that characters make that are sometimes not the best. The final thing i enjoyed about the book were the characters backgrounds they were a little boring in the beginning but they show how everyone came together. The characters are described pretty well as well. Those are the reasons I like and dislike this book.

All these points bring me to the final question… do i recommend this book. I would recommend this book if you like zombies and kind of nerdy things because no normal person will read a book about zombies. I would recommend it because it is action packed and makes you think could this really happen. Because most people instantly say zombies aren't real but their are so many books and T.V. shows that are oddly entertaining. So i would rate the book a seven out of ten because it's good just really slow in the beginning. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes zombie movies T.V. shows or books because it's entertaining and funny because it's zombie cows. Those are all the reasons i recommend this book to all other people adult or teens.
