A Flipped Relationship

By Catherine C.
The story, Flipped, is a somewhat romantic tale of two individuals of the names of Bryce and Juli written by the author Wendelin Van Draanen. She has written many other books as well as, The Running Dream, and the Sammy Keyes series. Wendelin Van Draanen is known for writing children's and young-adult fiction stories. Flipped, represents the genre young-adult fiction because of its good vocabulary use and way of wording.

The book, Flipped, is a story about two friends who had the same feelings for each other just at different times. When Juli was seven years old she had the biggest crush on Bryce but he was just not interested in her at all or girls period. About five years later the feelings they had towards each other "flips" (hence the title).
This story has many pros to it. I really liked how the story really flowed and there weren't any boring parts to it. I also liked how the author evenly distributed the narration of the story so it wasn't just telling only one of the person's point of view it flipped back and forth and that helped me understand the dialog much more. Although, there were a few uninteresting parts that probably should have been edited out but it didn't bother me to much.
I highly recommend Flipped because it is just an all around great read. If you are interested in young love story's then this is the one for you. The next time you are at your local or school library, check out Flipped!
