Chelsea has taken a vow in silence to make sure that she doesn't hurt anyone else. My favorite quote from the book is "You can be surrounded by people and still be lonely. You can be the most popular person in school, envied by every girl and wanted by every boy, and still feel completely worthless. The world can be laid at your feet and you can still not know what you want from it."
She hurt people she cared about for running her mouth about business and so forth, and in her mind the least she can do is shut up. But she doesn't understand why people can't see that she's trying to do the whole "world" a favor and stop talking. She doesn't want to hurt anyone else. Basically Chelsea is "Queen bee's best friend, but she often felt as if she never belonged. She commits an unforgivable act towards the so called "in crowd" , and basically becomes a social outcast overnight. Other than that the book really surprised me because I thought it was going to be the same sappy romantic novel with the perfect couple that has to go through stuff to be together but that didn't happen and I actually really enjoyed this novel.
