A classic everyone should get started on

By: Rosaura R.

Lord of the flies by William Golding is truly a classic. This book consists of group of kids who have been involved in a plane crash and are now on a deserted island where all the adults have sadly passed away.

All of them trying to cope with the fact that the adults are gone and it's just 12 kids who are trying to survive with what they have provided. Ralph is one of the main kids, and is also the protagonist of the story. He's one of the good ones and tries to maintain the group with some type of civilization. And then you have Jack, who just wants to hunt all day long and doesn't really care about anything else. He favors the meat that the isolated island might have and hunting over civilized domesticity instead. There's also an intelligent little boy whose name is Piggy. He has special glasses, which leads them to create a fire using the lens of the glasses and the sun. They have to use all the recourses and brain knowledge they can. Since Jack doesn't care about anything, he let the group down due to the fact that he let a ship pass by all because he wasn't paying attention to the fire that had died out. Jack is just a big disappointment in my opinion. Throughout the book, the kids also seem to talk about a beast that is after to get them. They are traumatized with what is going on but with Ralph being around, he keeps everyone calm and sane. This is not my first time reading this book but I will tell you that William Golding has an unusual mindset but a captivating way that makes this particular story appealing, and personally I do not like reading much but this book was worth it.  I would truly recommend this book to others because of how intriguing it was.
