The Midnighter Series Strikes Again

By Nathan T.
The Midnighters: Blue Noon by Scott Westerfeld is the third book in the Midnighters series. This book is about a new phenomenon about the bluetime, which is not in the lore. When our protagonists are trying to solve this Rex is trying to deal with his hybrid self. It all starts when the bluetime emerged in the morning, 14 hours before midnight. Usually the blue time, an extra hour in the day where only monsters and our heros lurk, is only supposed to come at midnight. Also, the rips or untimely bluetime are shorter than the one at midnight, and there are random. However they are not not predictable.

This book, in my opinion, is the best in the series so far. It is completely packed with action, and chapter ending cliffhangers. Westerfield, like always, is able to catch the reader on a waterslide of entertainment by the second or third chapter. One of my complaints on one of the other book was that the supporting characters where static. However in this book Beth Day, a sibling of one of the protagonist, does change from her bratty middle schooler attitude to more of a tolerable character.
Like always Westerfeld fails to disappoint me. I completely love this series, and every book in it. I can not wait to read the next book, and I hope others dive into this pool of entertainment
