Second Book Review

By The Anonymous Stranger

Of Mice and Men is about two field workers in California during the Great Depression. There's George Milton and Lennie Small, Lennie also has a mental illness. They both had a dream of living on their own land. In Lennie's part of the dream he wants to touch soft rabbits on the farm, he loves touching things that are soft. Lennie loves it when George tells the story about the farm. The boss's son, Curley, hates large men which made Lennie a target. Curley's wife tries to flirt with all the workers because she's lonely.

Curley started a fight with Lennie, where Lennie ended up crushing and breaking his hand. In the story, Lenne played with the puppy in the barn. While stroking the puppy, Lennie ended up killing it by being too rough. After Lennie killed the puppy, Curley's wife came into the barn talking about Lonely she was and her dreams of being a movie star. After finding out that he likes to pet soft things, she offered to let him stroke her hair. He became rough and she started yell and he panicked then snapped her neck. After all of that happened, Curley was looking around to have him lynched.
George took Lennie out next to a lake, he started telling the story about the farm then shot Lennie in the back of the head.
The story was really emotional at some points and had a lot of foreshadowing. I'm not really into old stories, but this one kind of interested me. I recommend this book to people who are into historical fiction and drama. This one definitely has a lot of twist.
