First Book Review -- Which was due third quarter

The Fault In Our Stars
By Mavis D.

The Fault In Our Stars is not like every teen romance novel. The book also includes the struggle of a girl and a boy with cancer and everything they've had to go through. This book basically tells teenagers that no matter how much you may go through, that doesn't stop you from living your life. The story is about a girl named Hazel who has cancer that spread to her lungs. She wears a breathing tube and has to go to support groups. While in the support group she meets a man named Augustus Waters

She met Augustus Waters because her friend, Isaac, who had an eye problem and had to get surgery and he wouldn't be about to see again. Hazel was outside waiting for her mom when Augustus approached her and started a conversation. She thought he was cute but didn't want to get to close because of her cancer.
They ended up being friends and reading each others favorite novels, and sharing secrets. Hazel told Augustus that she wanted to go to Amsterdam to meet Peter Van Houten, Author of the book An Imperial Affliction. They emailed Peter asking questions about the story and why it ended abruptly.
She told her mother but her mother didn't approve of the trip because of medical expenses. They later on used Cancer Perks to go on a trip to Amsterdam where her and Augustus Waters eventually fell in love. Later on in the story it turns out Augustus' cancer came back and it took a toll on his health and he eventually lost his battle.
I would recommend this story to anyone, I don't like sappy teenage love stories but this one definitely grabbed my attention. I loved how at first she didn't want to be with him or get too close to him because of her cancer. It wasn't corny or cheesy at all.
