The chilling, Yet lovely Bones

By Sarah G

The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold is a novel about a 14 year old girl named Susie Salmon. It was a cold snowy day when Susie was taking a shortcut through the cornfield home from school. Her weird neighbor,Mr.Harvey, was calling her name and she went to see him. He was creeping her out as soon as she saw him. He began to ask her questions about herself and then told her he was building a little fort for all the kids is the neighborhood. When her asked her if she wanted to see it she said no I to go home because it was getting dark out. Eventually she went down to check it out and he made her sit down and have a drink. He was being strange and she felt uncomfortable. When she told him she had to leave he wouldn't let her. The author, Alice Sebold also wrote other books to go along with Lovely Bones including The Looking Glass, and Lovely Bones.Picador.

While reading this book I really enjoyed the whole idea of it. Right from the beginning the books grab your attention and makes you want to keep going. This book is perfect if you don't  like reading because it's boring. The plot is a real life thing that could happen and when you're reading this book you can imagine being there as it's happening. The one thing I didn't like about it was it seemed to drag out. I also think there was a lot of unnecessary scenes in the book. The action seemed to take to long to build.
Overall this was a really good book and I would recommend this book to anyone who likes reading about sad things such as death. An interested reader should check out this book. Before I never heard of Alice Sebold, after reading Lovely Bones I'm interested in other stories by her.
