In near-future Britain, Trent McCaulley, 16, has a favorite hobby, mixing clips from different films that he downloads off of the internet. There's one problem, at this point and time in Britain, doing such a thing is illegal. If someone gets caught doing such a thing three times, their household is cut off from the internet for an entire year. Unfortunately for Trent, he gets caught doing his favorite thing three times, and his house is subsequently cut off from the internet. Now Trent must get used to the street life, as he has left his family with a huge struggle. He meets other artists who fight to stop a new bill that criminalizes even more harmless internet doings. Pirate Cinema by Cory Doctorow was action-packed. The story line constantly kept going, although some parts may seem slow to some people. If you enjoy a book that fights for justice, this book is for you. While mixed with a fantasized situation in a real world, this story delivers.
I would recommend this book for mid-aged kids who would understand it's concept and above. Even adults would find a good read out of this book. Overall it was a cool concept and Cory Doctorow delivered a fine read yet again. Check it out!
