The book Travel Team is a novel about a young boy named Danny Walker who loves the sports basketball. But there is a downside to this. Danny is too small. Danny's father Richie was a first-round draft pick for the Golden State Warriors, but Danny was unlucky and has always been the smaller kid in the group.
Due to Danny's height, his old basketball team kicked him off because they needed more "bigger" players. After Danny has kicked off the team he became angry and frustrated so he just kept of practicing and training and became curious of why he was born with such small height. Danny rarely sees his dad, so when he does he is very happy.
When Danny's father comes back to visit him he finds out the bad news and does something to fix it. Richie (Danny's father) decides to make his own basketball team. Danny asks some old and new friends to join like his best friend Will Stoddard.the one problem is everyone on the team besides Danny isn't very talented at basketball which is good and bad. It is good because Danny gets most of the points, and bad because they aren't a very talented team.
Mike Lupica is a very talented and interesting author. He is a sports author and a lot of his novels are basketball books like the one I read which was Travel Team. Mike Lupica has written well over forty books and there will be more to come.
I hope after you read this that you go and check out some of Mike Lupica's books including this one. I will also be looking at more of his books and I really enjoyed this one. I definitely give this book a thumbs up and I think you should read this too!
