Boy 2 Girl is 2 Funny 4 Me

By Christopher O.

You Know that feeling of living in the moment making decisions and feeling of living in the moment. But then you realize there was a huge problem with the plan but you've already gone through with it. And now your trying your best to find a way to slip away, but more factors come in with more problems, and it's now mixed up with your big problem. And now you have this big massive poly-problem, and you know there's know way around it so you just say: Fuck it, and try to go out out with a big bang before the dust settles.

That's this in a nutshell. And that's why I loved it.
The story starts when a newly orphaned kid named sam was sent from America to Britain with his aunt and her family. Sam being a past member of several gangs wanted to join his cousin Matt's "Gang"(hardly a gang). But Sam gets them in trouble and is forced to leave the group unless he does one thing. Dress as a girl for the first week of school and spy on a group of girls that has been messing with them. Originally a joke to keep sam from bothering them they were surprised to see sam willing to do it. So they decide to try it out, only to realise the many holes in the plan as well as a bunch of other stuff that just makes the book udder chaos.
The book's greatest strength is probably it's greatest weakness. The story is told through different perspectives from many characters, And it switches a lot each chapter. Admittedly this get's confusing at times, like when you forget the name of a character, or when you introduce a new character through their own perspective. However the characters have so much personality behind them it's a little hard to forget people like Crash Lopez . not to mention it's always fun to read the different thoughts of each character even if that thought is a sentence or word long. It also goes into ideas of gender,(masculinity vs femininity) Gender identity, and even the slight differences in behavior between England and America.
If you don't feel comfortable with these types of issues then it's probably not for you. But it does cross a huge line and is quite frankly very funny if you really invest in the story and characters. So I highly recommend this book.
