Lock and Key is a novel that is very touching and perceptive, written by Sarah Dessen. Sarah Dessen is an author that writes young adult fiction. She has written other novels like Just Listen, The Truth About Forever, Keeping the Moon, and more. Ruby waits until she turns eighteen and can finally live on her own legally. Her plan wasn't exactly how she planned it, when she had to be reunited with Cora her sister that had left for ten years.

What I liked about the book was that it was interesting. The dialogue seemed realistic and the pacing of the book was just right. The characters had strong connections to each other. For some people this book had ups and downs but for me it was all ups.

This novel is worth reading. Once you read the first chapter you would want to read it all in one night. I recommend this book to teenage girls and to read Sarah Dessen's other books she had published.
