Crunch Time: Worth The Read (However, this is not a critical essay)

By: Zack T.

Crunch Time is a story written by Mariah Fredericks about four teenagers that are thrown out of the SAT's and come together to form a study group. The main characters are high school Juniors – Max, Daisy, Jane, and Leo. These four all showed up to take the SATs and got thrown out together which is when they became friends. The group consists of a jock, a nerd, a rich kid, and just your average high school Junior.

To spice things up, a love triangle is thrown into the plot to test the kids. When pressure builds, they face breaking up. Once they finally retake the test in March (without getting kicked out this time). After the test, rumors go around about one student paying another student to take the test for them and the group begins to wonder if it was one of them. Obviously this forms a break in their circle of trust and tension continues to build.
All in all, the book is very well written from start to finish and will provide a great source of entertainment for the reader.
