This review was supposed to have a clever title, but the writer is lame.

The Running Dream by Wendelin Van Draanen is a heart touching story that teaches us that we should not take things for granted and appreciate what we have. This book makes you realize how lucky you can be. Not only is sixteen year old Jessica try to keep up with school, but she's trying to put her life back together after the accident.

Sixteen year old Jessica loved to run. That was the only true thing that made her happy. Until she gets into a tragic accident and lost the one thing that mattered the most to her. With Jessica trying to manage school and try to not only walk but to run she starts to lose hope and starts to wonder if the girl who died in the car accident got the better end of the deal. The fact the Jessica can't run or walk doesn't stop her from trying to do things on her. When she falls down and everything seems useless, she tries harder every time until she gets it right.

The Running Dream is overall an amazing book. I hands down recommend this book. It shows you how beautiful life can be. From a scale of one to ten I would give this book a 10. This book shows you hope and to never give up on yourself even when everything seems to be going wrong. You can find this book at the NHSS library.
