This review was supposed to have a clever title but ...

By Aiden M.

Dust, by Joan Frances Turner, is a gripping book that instantly gets you hooked. It combines some of the most popular things today. One such thing is zombies. This book is full of gory scenes that may make some people's stomachs twist. Joan describes these scenes with much sensory language. Max has risen from the dead and has begun a new life with a gang until things start to go wrong.

Max was a teen who suffered a terrible car accident that killed her. She enjoyed life afterwards when she raised up from her grave and joined an undead gang afterwards, for a time. Max and her gang have it tough, with people trying to them, and the fact that they are going through the stages of decomposition. They lived a fine life of hunting animals mostly, but occasionally a hoo. This all changed when the sickness hit. Max and her gang must find a way to survive.
This book will not disappoint with its great amounts of action and mystery. You will not want to put it down. On a scale of 1 to 5, i would give this book a four. The reason I don't give it a five is because the book could be hard to follow sometimes, and needed to be reread at some points. Although the detail makes up for it somewhat. Overall I find this book satisfactory, and recommend it to any avid fiction reader. You can find this book at the NHSS library.
