Rider's Final Ride
By Rohan Patel

By Rohan P.

If you are into mystery filled action, then the Alex Rider book series is just for you. Scorpia Rising is the second to last book in this fast paced thriller series. The author, Anthony Horowitz, who resides in England is a famous novelist and screenwriter. Horowitz specializes in mystery and suspense novels. The Alex Rider series is not the only famously known series Horowitz has made. He has created many other successful series that many young adults still read today.

Alex Rider, the protagonist, is a teenager who works for the MI6. His life is much different than many other kids his age, and it's important that they don't find out. In each book in the series he takes on another mission, some which he barely accomplishes. In Scorpia Rising, Zeljan Kurst, who is the leader of a crime organization known as Scorpia, is asked by a greek billionaire that the Elgin Marbles are brought back to Greece. Kurst does not agree and a fight breaks loose during the meeting between many MI6 agents and many of the men who work for Scorpia. Kurst successfully leaves without being touched. Kurst then assigns a new member to Scorpia, Razim, who is a psychopath to head a mission that will kill Alex Rider and expose MI6 for using a teenage spy. MI6 also have plans of their own for finally trying to end Scorpia. As the setting shifts to Cairo, Egypt, MI6 and Scorpia battle one last time. Will Rider go out with bang on his final mission or will Razim and Scorpia finally fulfill their goal of World wide domination? If action packed mystery novels please you, then the Alex Rider series is perfect for you.
Horowitz makes Scorpia Rising a must read book through the plot, description and most importantly the fact that being a teenage spy would be the coolest thing ever. The plot of the story is truly amazing. This novel takes you from the quiet rural parts of England to the hectic and dangerous parts of Cairo, Egypt. Horowitz makes you feel like you could be Rider himself. It's amazing how good description and setting can make a novel incredibly good. As well, it's cool to see Riders growth throughout the series, especially in this book since it's his final mission.
I have always been a big Anthony Horowitz fan because of this series. As I wait for a new series to be released, I strongly suggest you to pick up this series and read it from the beginning. Trust me you won't regret it.
