This Book Will Go Through You Like Lightning

By Coryn F.

Young writer, Chris Colfer, has written an amazing book about one teenage boy's adventure through his senior year of high school. Chris' book called Struck by Lightning was based off of the original movie, which Chris starred in. He is mainly known for his role on Glee, a popular tv show.

Carson Phillips is a high school student in a little town called Clover. Carson did not really enjoy anybody in that town, including his own family. He had one friend, Malerie Baggs. Malerie basically videotaped everything. Carson was a part of the Clover High Chronicle, student council, and at the beginning of senior year he already applied to Northwestern University. His dream job was to edit the New Yorker. Carson, with all of the other bad high school things he had going for him, got told by his guidance counselor that for Northwestern to accept his application he needed to make a literary magazine. Carson's worst nightmare.
Since Carson really had no writing friends, he went into bribery and blackmail. However, he did have some secrets kept in his head about people who would never submit to Carson's magazine, except if they were bribed into it. Having to communicate with these people made Carson go out of his mind, but he got through it while using amazing sarcasm the remembering it was all to get to Northwestern. He did not have a good life at home with an alcoholic mess of a mother and a father who found a new girlfriend after the divorce. HIs grandma, who he was very close to, was struggling with Alzheimer's disease. Who knows what sort of things a parent can do when they are a little crazy in the head.
Struck by Lightning will make you laugh like crazy, cry hard, and get you very angry at times. This book is more for the teenage age group with some rude humor. I doubt

you will ever want to put this book down. I rate it a 10/10, I loved this book that much. I suggest buying this book from any big book store such as Barnes and Nobles. You

can also purchase it on Amazon or your local library. You will zoom through this book, almost like, lightning.
