This review's title game was weak

By Ryan L.

The book I'm reviewing is Heat. The author is Dwight Gooden and Bob Klapisch. Another book written by Dwight Gooden is DOC: A Memoir. The genre of the book is Non-fiction.

Dwight Gooden in this book talks about his career in baseball and his years before he got drafted. Dwight's father was really harsh on him. He didn't let Dwight do anything like go to parties or hang out with friends. All his father wanted him to do was for him to practice all the time. When he joins the team he gets the nickname DOC. And that's what everybody knew has after those years playing. He was the best pitcher in league. But then something happened. He started drinking and was losing his reflexes and his speed was going down.
What I liked about this book is how I can reflect to it because I love playing baseball and I am also a pitcher. Also he played for the two teams I like the Mets and the Yankees,
The lesson that he teaches in this book is that if you have all that you want don't ruin your chances of becoming something with using drugs. It's a really nice story and he tells you what it was like in those years. He also talked about how awkward it felt to be one of the two blacks on the team when he was in the minors.
You can find this book at your local library or school library.
