Matched Forever!

By: Brianna D.

In the Society once a citizen has turned seventeen years old they have a choice to make. You are able to be put into a Matching pool where Officials decided on what two people are most compatible. Factors such as genes and background information are also considered to insure that couples will produce the best offspring. If the decision is not to be Matched then, you will become a single ,but will not be allowed to have children.

Cassia has just turned seventeen and is excited to be Matched. From seeing the relationship of her mother and father and others in the society she does not question anything. When  it is revealed that her best friend and next door neighbor Xander is her match she could not have ask for anyone better especially since it is rare for matches to know each other in their everyday lives. Cassia soon opens up the screen that reveals all of Xander personal information and pictures. She takes the time to enjoy this until another face pops up on the screen. Ky.
She now has to figure out which boy is her one true love and for the first time in her life question the society that was believed to be perfect. With all of the twists and surprises that Cassia discovers this book will leave you on the edge of your seat!

This was most enjoyable for the fact that Condie describes all the facts of the society to a max. This made the reader feel as though they were in the book with Cassia experiencing all of it with her.  The only thing that was disappointing was how the storyline was a bit slow because of Cassia’s constantly being between the lines on which decision she should make and what will make her the happiest in the end. This book is a mixed of  humor, wit, despair and romance. Also, the advancement of the characters was the fast-paced  ,but detailed.  It was amazing enough for me to go out that day to pick up the second and third novels.

I plan to finish the trilogy and am delighted to see if she has written any similar books such as this one. If you are a lover of dystopian styled novels you should add this novel to your library and give it a try.
