CARRIE, Review

By Melissa C.
I have previously read this book as a child, but I found myself eager to pick it up and start tearing away at the pages once more. Carrie by Stephen King is a famous and well written story that has many teens and adults captivated in the whirlpool of the Horror genre. This revenge tale may seem very predictable, yet when you continue to read, you become lost in the riveting scenes and shocking twist that this story contains.

The topic of social injustice is quite frankly the whole story. Stakes are high as a young adult and impressions as well as reputations matter the most. When either one of the two are threatened we become lost and if we also are not able to have anyone to reach out too, we break. This story really touches upon what it feels like to have no one, not even family. The thing we as people can accomplish when we are hurt is as horrifying as it would be even if we did not have magical powers like "Carrie".
Carrie is not only a Horror novel but also a good representation of the consequences of our actions and a perfect example for the quote "what goes around, comes around". Though i may not agree with her final response, I do believe it was fairly earned.and respect the endgame in this story.
