The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Nighttime

By Sarah G.

In the story The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Nighttime by Mark Haddon, Christopher Boone has aspergers, which is a developmental disorder affecting ability to effectively socialize and communicate. This story starts off by Christopher finding his neighbor's dog in his yard. The dog is dead and has a pitch fork in his side. When the neighbor sees his dog he calls the police and Christopher is put in a holding cell.

While in this cell he thinks about his dad and how he said not to worry about the death. He fails to listen and starts asking neighbors. Through this journey he learns a lot about himself and what he thought he knew. Christopher solves the mystery of the dead dog and goes to London to live with his mom as he didnt feel safe with his dad. At the end of the story he realises he can do anything he sets his mind to. The author of this book also writes The Spot Of The Brother and The Red House.
While reading this book I really enjoyed the whole idea of it. Right from the beginning the books grab your attention and makes you want to keep going. This book is perfect if you don't like reading because you really want to know what happens next. The plot is good and keeps you wanting more.Realistic I related to this book because I babysit a child with aspergers diseases.
