Packing a Punch.

Proving once again that the book is always better than the movie, Chuck Palahniuk delivers a 

great piece of fiction that at times seems all too real in Fight Club. The entirety of the story is in the 

name of anti-establishment.  The narrator whose name isn't really clear, struggles to hit rock bottom 

with the guidance of an anarchy guru of sorts.

     The novel Ella Minnow Pea, written by Mark Dunn, is a short novel following the life of our main character Ella along with other residents of the island Nollop. This island, located just off the coast of the United States, is a haven for those who value knowledge and language. They revere Nevin Nollop, the creator of the pangram "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog," a phrase which features every letter of the English alphabet with the smallest amount of repeats in only 35 characters. A statue stands in the town center in memorial too Nollop's great accomplishment and proudly displays his pangram across tiles at its base. Ella Minnow Pea lives in the town and exchanges letters with various residents along with her cousin. The people in the town live a safe and happy life where they are governed by a council who makes the laws.

The Weirdness THIS IS THE TITLE OF A BOOK, NOT A BOOK REVIEW

You will think you know what the title of The Weirdness signifies relatively early on. Billy Ridgeway, struggling writer (well, he still believes so) and neurotic, wakes after a long night of drinking with his best friend Anil and meditating on the presence of bananas at bodegas to find the devil in his living room. No soul-stealing required, the devil explains while sipping coffee (which turns out to be infernally good); perform one minor task and Lucifer will put a few words into a few ears, and poof, Billy Ridgeway will be a published novelist. It's a tempting offer. But then, as Lucifer reminds Billy a few times during the novel, that's what the devil does; he tempts people. The question is—does temptation trump neurosis?

The Wall - This is the title of the book, not of the book review

"The Wall" by the French author Jean-Paul Sartre is a compilation of three short stories published in 1939. The First story, titled "The Wall" depicts  three political prisoners on the night prior to their execution. The story is set in the time era of the Spanish Civil War. The title refers to the wall used by firing squads to execute prisoners and also symbolizes the unknowing death the prisoners faced during this time. The author gives this feeling of a black and white film noir while reading which makes it easy to picture it in your head. The story is about a friend looking out for another by telling the police a fake whereabouts and then taking a dark turn.

The Cheesiest Story About Sisterhood and Some “Traveling Pants”

Ann Brashares is an author of young adult fiction novels, and her most popular series is the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, which is what I am reviewing. This is the type of reading theme that I like to stick to, but I can't say I enjoyed this one very much. Some of Brashares' work includes The Last Summer, My Name is Memory, and The Here and Now, which doesn't give me a good first impression anyways, so I won't go out of my way to read one of her books again.

Breakfast of Champions Book Review - THIS IS A HORRIBLE TITLE

Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut Jr. is a sad story of two men, Kilgore Trout, an unknown but widely published author, and Dwayne Hoover, a car salesman and widower on the verge of a mental breakdown. Kilgore is invited to speak at a writer's convention, even though his work is mostly used a filler for pornographic novels. When Dwayne encounters Kilgore, he demands he get a message from him. Kilgore gives Dwayne a book he wrote, where the reader is the only human, and everyone else is a robot. Reading the book, Dwayne finally snaps, and goes on a violent rampage, hurting his 9-year-old son and 4 other people.
