Recently I read The Selection by Kiera Cass. The Selection is the first book in her Selection series. The main character America Singer is thrown into a world of competition and danger as she and thirty-four other girls enter the Selection. The Selection is a prestigious competition for the Prince of Illéa. Prince Maxon is the heartthrob of Illéa, loved by all. Except for America. In their world, everyone lives in an eight-level caste system. The Royal family is at the top, and the lowest level being workers. America loves her life in the fifth level and wishes to stay with her secret love Aspen. Forced to put her name into the drawing for the Selection, America now has to compete for the Prince's love, but only wants to stay in for the money they pay her poor family. Eventually, a love triangle develops as America realizes Maxon is deeper than she ever thought.
